A surprisingly high number of genes with divergent patterns of variation has been found among cod populations. The variation is likely to reflect adaptive quality trait variation in this species.

Three companies working with SEAFOODplus obtained honours in the Prix d'Elite competiton at the European Seafood Exposition 22-24 April 2008 in Brussels. SEAFOODplus had success in exhibiting together with Eurofish.
