SEAFOODplus presented to the Canadian AquaNet

November 04. 2003

AquaNet is one of Canada's Networks of Centres of Excellence, aiming to foster a sustainable aquaculture sector in Canada through high quality research and education. AquaNet, and the executive scientific director, prof. Scott McKinley, is already a partner in SEAFOODplus, specifically in project 5.2 in the aquaculture pillar.

In order to strengthen the links between SEAFOODplus and AquaNet, pillar coordinator Børge Damsgård from NIFA, Norway, visited the annual AquaNet conferance held in Vancouver, 24 - 28 Oct. 2003. He gave a presentation of SEAFOODplus to the board of AquaNet, and spend some days to identify possible links between the two networks. The board of AquaNet was generally very positive to link projects between European and Canadian scientist, as long as such projects could be of mutual interest for both regions.
