Dr Børge Damsgård is the coordinator of RTD Pillar 5, Seafood from aquaculture. He is having a position as a principal scientist at the Norwegian Institute of Fisheries and Aquaculture (NIFA), Norway. NIFA is one of the core research institutions in Norway, having a value chain approach from farm to fork, including aquaculture, industrial processing, consumer studies, economy and market. The institution owns modern research facilities for experimental studies of fish biology and fish quality. Dr Damsgård has a wide research experience in experimental fish biology since 1990. He has been coordinating a number of research projects and was active during the EU COST action 827. He is currently leading a 5-years national strategic research program.
