An extension to SEAFOODplus has been obtained by affiliating a Marie Curie fellowship to one of the 20 ongoing projects. An important educational component has thus been successfully added to the ongoing educational programme for providing young scientists to the seafood area.
Results having been obtained were presented at a two-day course arranged in Spain with participants from nine different countries in the Mediterranean area. The course also included a technical visit to study a traceability system implemented in a fish chain.
In a study of 22 different underutilised species three were selected as promising candidates for innovative minced products. Among the three the Greater Argentine was considered the best candidate for further development.
