Partner 32: Danish Veterinary and Food Administration (DVFA)

 DVFA is part of the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries. The head office of the Veterinary and Food Administration is located in Mørkhøj, a suburb of Copenhagen. Development, co-ordination and the formation of rules and regulations take place in Mørkhøj and are organized in four units: (1) the Food Department, (2) the Veterinary Service, (3) the Administration Department and (4) the Institute of Food Safety and Nutrition. Eleven regional veterinary and food control centres handle food control and veterinary inspection. The regional veterinary and food control authority Copenhagen is involved in SEAFOODplus. DVFA has approximately 2500 employees.
