The day before the important Open SEAFOODplus Conference opens in Bilbao, two workshops were arranged with connection to SEAFOODplus.

Workshop on Bivalve Molluscan Shellfish Safety - Managing the Safety Risk

The Way Forward?

 

The aim of this one day workshop was to disseminate the latest developments in the area of virus shellfish safety and to identify information gaps.

The workshop aimed to make recommendations on future work and to propose strategies for implementing improved safety procedures.

Seafood Spoilage and Safety Prediction workshop

Important aspects of the workshop include:

 

- Shelf-life of seafood under variable temperature storage conditions

 

- New models and software to predict shelf-life of aquaculture products

 

- Growth and growth boundary of Listeria monocytogenes – how to use new model and software in relation to EU-regulation (EC 2073/2005)

  

This workshop was organised in collaboration between DIFRES (Denmark), AZTI-tecnalia (Spain) and the EU SEAFOODplus programme and took place the day before the important SEAFOODplus conference on 5-6 June.
